Now that the Super Bowl’s over I’m ready for spring!!! Actually I’ve been ready for quite a while. We haven’t had snow like they’re getting in the Mid-Atlantic but we’ve had our share of COLD & SNOW.
There’s light at the end of the tunnel though. In a little over a month the 2010 Spring Turkey seasons will open in both Kansas and Nebraska, starting with Nebraska Archery March 25, Kansas Archery April 1, Kansas Shotgun April 14, & Nebraska Shotgun April 17. The bird numbers are at a level like I’ve never seen before…it’s not uncommon to see a hundred Long Beards in one bunch. We had an incredible hatch in 2009 and with the late harvest this year the food sources and survival rates have been fantastic. The big bunches will be breaking up before too long and we’ll be there waiting for em!!!
